The hospital building
To support this investment there are a number of estate developments needed at the CRH site.
These developments will improve service delivery, provide improved clinical facilities and patient safety, and will enable compliance with national recommendations for estate and clinical service delivery. This will deliver benefits for all people across Calderdale and Huddersfield as well as the wider region.
The new 30,000m2 hospital building and related estate developments include:
- a new A&E department;
- a paediatric A&E department;
- additional theatre capacity; and
- a further ten inpatient wards.
The proposed developments will:
- Facilitate patient-centred care;
- Deliver attractive buildings and surroundings;
- Support delivery of leading-edge clinical services;
- Provide therapeutic environments to aid recovery;
- Not impact the current access/egress points into the site;
- Provide exceptional working environment to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce; and
- Be operationally and environmentally sustainable including BREEAM certification, supporting the Trust on its journey towards Net Zero Carbon.
