CCG partners give backing to proposals for change

Following completion of formal consultation, our two CCG partners gave their backing to the proposals to safeguard and transform healthcare in our area for the next 20 years.

The CCGs  shared a meeting at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, on Thursday October 20 to make the decision on the Right Care, Time, Place proposals.

They agreed to progress to the development of a full business case which subject to further regulatory and government approval would lead to the creation of the following:

One emergency care centre at CRH

One specialist planned care centre at HRI

Two urgent care centres – one at each hospital

Enhanced care provision in the communities

We will now be working on partnership with the CCGs to develop the plans for just how the services will change to guarantee they provide the best care for our patients and their families locally. Together with patients and their families, the views of our doctors, nurses, therapists, GPs and many other colleagues will be central to designing our new future and ensuring that we deliver for local people. It is expected to take at least five years to full implementation but many significant changes to patient care will take place along the way.
