Congrats! Porter Jamie Green is our latest Star Award winner

Jamie Green was our last porter at Princess Royal Community Hospital. (PRCH)

He went for a month and ended up there for six years  before finally closing the door for the last time on the building which has now been sold to Locala.

And his work in the runup to the handover led facilities manager Andrew Donegan to nominate him for a Star Award.

Andrew said: "Jamie has worked independently at the PRCH for six years providing a portering and caretaking service. Recently,  during the handover of the building,  the new facilities provider expressed gratitude for the level of service knowledge and professionalism and support given by Jamie to ensure a smooth handover of the buliding. He had  offered his contact details if further information was required and Jamie ensured the must do's were carried out at all times. He continued to work with all the agenices to ensure the results were achieved, and maintaining waiting rooms and patient areas at all times."

Jamie said he loved being one of the  portering team at HRI.

He said: " I love the role. you have to be good with people. A good communicator and a good listener - particularly with our more elderly patients."
