Our fruit and veg stall at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary has proved so popular he's coming in three days a week. Alongside this, we're starting a market stall at CRH in June too. Colleagues, patients and visitors are now regular shoppers at the stall at HRI. One man, who was a patient, comes back from Dalton (two buses) to buy his produce at HRI. It is also rumoured that local residents are popping to stock up too. A colleague from Estates', Alison Wilson, said: "The stall has had tremendous feedback. People are telling us it is a brilliant quality and fresh and good value and well-presented. Tony is always being asked to come more often so this is just great. It's a great healthy initiative for CHFT to be leading and makes it easy for everyone to get their fresh fruit and veg. The stall at HRI will be here Weds, Thurs and now every Friday - due to demand. His best sellers are: strawberries, bananas, satsumas, grapes and apples. It is run by Tony Gent from Queensgate Market in Huddersfield and was initially brought in on a trial basis under the Food for life initiative in partnership with the CCGs and public health to see how popular the idea would be. We worked with Kirklees Council Market Manager to ensure the local stall holder met some key criteria.
