Switch to electronic patient records

This weekend sees the final stage of a two-year plan to transform the way your local Trust delivers your healthcare.

The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is introducing an electronic patient records (EPR) system to record and store all patient information centrally and safely. This will be fully operational by the start of next week after a lengthy transition process from the traditional paper files which started back in 2015.

There are two big advantages:

* For you and your families -  it will mean you will only have to supply your details and medical history once and will not have to repeat them at each stage of your care

* For our healthcare staff caring for you - it will mean much easier access to your records so more time is spent caring and treating our patients.

This is the biggest transformation at this Trust ever  since we merged into one Trust and supports and strengthens our commitment to delivering the best compassionate care to our local populations.
