Staff in our Tissue Viability Team are over the moon after winning The Innovation in Wound Care category at the Journal of Wound Care Awards 2023 last week.
Lead Nurse for Wound Management, Judy Harker entered the whole team for their changed approach to delivering the Tissue Viability Service across the CHFT acute and community healthcare.
Judy's business case allowed the team to expand, introducing extended working hours to provide continuity of care, improved response times and optimise wound care seven days a week.
Entries came from across the globe, with one of the finalists in their category hailing from Abu Dhabi in The United Arab Emirates.
The Chase's Paul Sinha presented the award to Judy's colleague, Alison Ward. Thankfully she didn't have to answer any questions to get to the stage!
Senior Nurse, Cath Briggs, said: "We are so proud of Judy and the team. At CHFT we know what an innovative team the tissue viability nurses are. It's fabulous to have them recognised internationally in this way. Well done #soproud."
