Dermatology
The Dermatology service provides care and treatment for patients suffering from a number of skin conditions including skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis as well as undertaking minor surgery across both Calderdale and Huddersfield sites and brings a high level of expertise to the service.
The dermatology service also works as part of a multidisciplinary team along with facial and plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists and other local hospitals such as Leeds and Bradford.

Meet the team
The team consists of 3 locum consultants, 2 speciality doctors, 2 nurse consultants and a dedicated team of nursing staff who support the consultants in delivering treatments and compassionate care for a wide range of conditions; all of which are supported by secretarial and reception staff.

Specialist Dermatology Nurses:
Corrine Jakeman and Tracy Tatchell-Adams who provide advice and support for patients on systemic and biologic therapy.
Natalie MacDonald (Macmillan Skin Cancer Specialist Nurse) who provides advice and support to patients newly diagnosed with skin cancer.
Nursing Team:
The nursing team are on hand to deliver treatments, provide advice and support and assist during skin surgery procedures. Examples of nurse-led treatments offered in the department include NUVB TLO1 and PUVA light therapy, patch testing, iontophoresis and wound care.
2ww Fast Track Skin Cancer Services:
The department runs 2ww face to face clinics seeing patients who have been referred by their GP with a suspected skin cancer. We aim to see all patients within the 2 week target and then complete their treatment within the department where possible offering skin surgery at both CRH and Acre Mills. Referrals may be made to other departments such as Plastics and Max Fax when required.
