The diabetes teams work in collaboration with colleagues in primary (GPs etc) and secondary care (hospitals etc) to offer cross boundary clinical expertise, education and support to people with diabetes, their carers and other agencies to make sure they have access to high quality and comprehensive diabetes services.
Where to find us
Calderdale
Our diabetes centre in Calderdale is based at the Calderdale Royal Hospital where our reception and admin staff will warmly welcome you. We are open for telephone advice Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm.
Huddersfield
Our Diabetes specialist nurses are based in our Outpatient department at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary - corridors three and four and the ground floor.
In the Community
The community Diabetes team for Huddersfield is based at The Princess Royal Health Centre in Huddersfield, this service is provided by Locala.
Meet the Team
The Calderdale and Huddersfield diabetes teams provide both consultant and specialist nurse led care, with support from a specialist dietitian and podiatrist who have a vast wealth of knowledge and experience within the field of diabetes and endocrinology.
Both teams offer their services in the hospital and community setting and provide joint specialist clinics for antenatal care and young people.

Community Team
The community Diabetes service for Huddersfield is provided by Locala.
Locala have a team of Specialist Diabetes nurses who educate and support people with diabetes to help them control, understand and manage their diabetes and live as full a life as possible.
The team run a number of clinics across Greater Huddersfield and work with consultants in the Out Patients department at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. Home visits are also available for the housebound. Diabetes specialist services are provided by Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust in north Kirklees.
