What is Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee?
Arthritis may also be described as wear and tear or degeneration. This may have been identified following as assessment of the knee or via an x-ray.
Osteoarthritis is a natural aging process (like grey hair or wrinkles). The knee is the most common joint to be effected by arthritis.
When to seek advice
If you have severe pain affecting your sleep and daily activities, if you have had a serious injury or you have symptoms that have not improved with self-management, you should contact your GP practice. If you have a red, hot swollen joint please ring 111
