Dr Cheryl Fernandes - Rheumatology Consultant and Clinical Lead - General Rheumatology and Osteoporosis
Dr Fernandes joined the Trust in 2007. She trained in the West Yorkshire Rheumatology rotation. She sees the whole spectrum of rheumatological conditions and has interest in difficult to manage osteoporosis.
Dr Omer Sharif – Rheumatology Consultant
Dr Sharif joined the Trust in 2016. He trained in the London Deanery - South Thames Rheumatology and General Medicine rotation and was working as a consultant in Dorset before moving to West Yorkshire. His interests include inflammatory arthritis, rheumatology ultrasound, vasculitis and connective tissue disorders.
Dr Alshaimaa Rezk – Rheumatology Consultant
Dr Rezk joined the Trust in 2021. She completed her medical training at Cairo University and Kasr Al-Ainy Hospital. Before relocating to West Yorkshire, Dr Rezk served as a Lecturer and Associate Professor of General Medicine and Consultant in Rheumatology/Clinical immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, positions she held since 2015.
Dr Rezk’s clinical and research interests focus on inflammatory arthritis, musculoskeletal ultrasound and connective tissue disorders, including systemic lupus erythematosus and Behçet’s disease. She has a strong background in teaching and research and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
